Tidus: Love him or hate him?

FFX fan have mixed feelings about Tidus. Some think he should crawl into a hole and die, while others think he's the greatest FF hero ever. What do you think?
I think he's a pretty good character, save his voice every now and again.

My rating for Tidus just went down a bit. I was playing FFX the other dady, and someone cast confuse on him. Now, on that game file, I'd never seen him hit anything for more than 700 HP's worth of damage. Then he somehow manages to swing the sword and hit HIMSELF, and does more than 2000's worth! Evil or Very Mad

I don't hate him.

In fact, these days I rate him higher than Cloud in terms of personnality.
